URBAN ABORIGINAL ART

Koori Kicks Art creates unique contemporary Aboriginal artworks for the domestic and commercial markets. Lee’s designs are created by taking our daily life experiences, along with his own, and telling them in his own urban Aboriginal art style. Using both traditional ochre tones, along with bright colours, Lee’s works are designed to draw the viewers in to some of our history’s darkest days, and our own personal journeys, and allow them to take in a visual representation that can be confronting, yet conversational at the same time.

“As an artist, I believe it is important to create something that people will take in visually, absorb the content, read the story, then make their own conclusion. Sometimes this will mean you get your point across without trying to convince the other person of what the piece is portraying. Other times, they will take something away from it that strikes them personally, and that may never have been the intention, in your own eyes. In the end, creating a piece that is thought provoking is always a positive outcome.”
